Product Overview

The 1794-OW8XT is a relay output module from the Allen-Bradley Flex I/O series. It provides 8 isolated, normally-open relay outputs. The module handles up to 250V AC loads. It uses conformal coating for high-temperature endurance. This design ensures reliable operation in harsh environments. The module draws 126 mA at 24V DC. It dissipates only 5.5W of power. The 1794-OW8XT connects easily to various networks. It saves space in control cabinets.

Application Scenarios

Use the 1794-OW8XT to switch AC or DC loads. Typical applications include motor starters, solenoid valves, and indicator lights. The isolated outputs protect sensitive logic. High-temperature tolerance suits steel mills or foundries. It works with Allen-Bradley Flex I/O adapters. Multiple modules can be daisy-chained. The relay outputs handle heavy inductive loads. Frequent switching at 0.3 Hz is possible.

Technical Specifications

The module has 8 relay outputs. Each relay has a normally-open contact. The relay contact rating is 250V AC. Initial contact resistance is 30 milliohms. Bounce time is 1.2 ms. Off-state leakage current is 1.0 mA through a snubber. Minimum contact load is 100 µA at 100 mV DC. Switching frequency is one operation per 3 seconds at rated load. The module uses 5V DC FlexBus current. Power dissipation is 5.5W. Thermal dissipation reaches 18.8 BTU/hr. The supply voltage range is 19.2 to 31.2V DC. The module measures 46 mm high, 94 mm wide, and 53 mm deep.

Installation & Maintenance Guide

Mount the module on a DIN rail. Use a zinc-plated yellow-chromate steel rail for proper grounding. Position the module at a slight angle. Hook it over the top of the rail. Push down until it locks. Connect the FlexBus connector to the adjacent adapter. The module requires an external 24V DC supply. Add fusing to each output channel for protection. A qualified technician should perform installation. Do not exceed the voltage or current ratings. Ensure adequate ventilation for heat dissipation.

Packing List

Each 1794-OW8XT module ships with one unit. Included are installation instructions. No terminal base is included. Use a compatible Allen-Bradley terminal base like 1794-TB3. We ship via FedEx, UPS, or DHL.
