Product Overview

The Triconex 3704E is a Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) analog input module. It is built for high-reliability industrial environments. This module accepts 64 single-ended inputs. It works with 0-5V or 0-10V voltage ranges. A 6% overrange is supported for both ranges. The 3704E uses a 12-bit ADC for accurate readings. It updates all channels every 75 milliseconds. The module is ideal for safety-critical systems. It provides PASS, FAULT, and ACTIVE status indicators. This helps operators monitor health easily.

Application Scenarios

This module fits into Triconex safety systems. It is used in oil and gas plants. It works in chemical processing facilities. Power generation stations also use it. The 3704E monitors pressure transmitters. It reads flow meter signals. It measures temperature sensor outputs. Its TMR design ensures fault tolerance. This makes it perfect for emergency shutdown systems. It also works in fire and gas detection panels. The high input count saves rack space.

Technical Specifications

Input voltage is 0-5V or 0-10V with +6% overrange. The module has 64 single-ended input points. It does not provide channel-to-channel isolation. Input update rate is 75 ms for all points. Resolution is 12 bits. Accuracy is less than 0.25% of FSR from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. Input resistance is 30 MOhm DC minimum. Power-off resistance is 30 MOhm DC typical. Leg-to-leg isolation is 200 kOhm typical. Normal mode rejection is -1 dB at 8 Hz. It is -12 dB at 60 Hz. It is -18 dB at 120 Hz. Input overrange protection reaches 150 VDC or 115 VAC continuous. For current inputs, use a 250 Ohm shunt for 5V range. Use a 500 Ohm shunt for 10V range. Current range is 0-20 mA. Diagnostic indicators show module status. Color code is Copper.

Installation & Maintenance Guide

Mount the module in a Triconex chassis. Ensure proper backplane connection. Use shielded twisted pair cables for inputs. Keep signal wires away from high-power lines. Check the module status LEDs after power-up. A green PASS light means normal operation. A red FAULT light indicates a problem. Clean the module face with a dry cloth. Do not use solvents. Replace the module only when system is powered off. Perform periodic loop checks on all inputs. Verify accuracy with a calibrated source. Store spare modules in anti-static bags.
