The 1794-ADN is a Rockwell Automation DeviceNet communication adapter. It connects a 1794 Flex I/O rack to a DeviceNet scanner. This module supports up to eight Flex I/O modules of any combination. You need a 24V DC power supply with a 19.2–31.2V DC range and 400 mA capacity. The module draws a maximum of 90 mA on the DeviceNet power. It provides a FlexBus output current of 640 mA at 5V DC.
Critical Cable Selection
Use Belden YR-29832 or an equivalent DeviceNet cable. The wire size must be 12 gauge stranded maximum with 3/64 inch (1.2mm) insulation. This cable ensures reliable communication at data rates of 125 KB, 250 KB, or 500 KB. The module auto-detects the baud rate during power-up.
