Product Overview

The 1746-NI16I is a high-density analog input module. It belongs to the Allen-Bradley SLC 500 series. This module features sixteen single-ended inputs. It accepts current signals from 0 to 20 mA. It also handles 4 to 20 mA and ±20 mA signals. The module uses a sigma-delta conversion type. This provides 16-bit resolution for accurate data. It includes a programmable low-pass digital filter. Filter frequencies range from 6 Hz to 250 Hz. The step response time varies from 9 to 630 milliseconds. This module offers 500V ac isolation for one second. It has five green LED indicators for status. The 1746-NI16I fits any I/O slot except slot 0. It consumes 125 milliamps at 5 Volts. It also uses 75 milliamps at 24 Volts DC. The maximum backplane power is 2.425 Watts. The thermal dissipation is 2.43 Watts. This module supports open circuit detection. It actuates in less than 5 seconds. The input impedance is 249 ohms. The maximum current input is ±30 mA. It uses a 25-pin D-shell connector. The recommended cable is Belden 8761. The maximum wire size is 14 AWG.
