Application Scenarios

This module works well in industrial automation systems. It suits applications that require limited discrete AC inputs. Examples include packaging machines, conveyor systems, and material handling. The 1734-IM2 can also be used in remote I/O racks with POINT I/O backplanes. Its low power dissipation allows dense installations.

Technical Specifications

The module accepts an external AC supply of 220 Volts at 60 Hz. Input voltage range is 159 to 264 Volts AC. Nominal input current is 8.5 mA at 220V. Power dissipation reaches a maximum of 0.48 Watts. Thermal dissipation is up to 1.63 BTU/hour. POINTBus current draw is 75 mA at 5V DC. Operating temperature is -20 to 55 degrees Celsius. It can withstand vibration of 5 g at 10 to 500 Hz. Shock tolerance is 30 g operating and 50 g non-operating.
