The ICS Triplex T8312 Expander Interface Adapter connects expander interface modules in a controller chassis to processor interface modules in an expander chassis. This device ensures reliable data transfer between chassis. It is a key part of large-scale control system architectures.

The T8312 comes in two models. The T8312/4 supports up to four expander chassis. The T8312/7 supports up to seven expander chassis. Both models use a simple DIP switch setup for chassis ID assignment.

For additional chassis, use another adapter. Set its IDs from 2 to 8 in hardware. Then assign them as IDs 9 to 15 in the software. This method allows for large system expansions.

Installation & Maintenance Guide

First, set the DIP switch on the adapter. Set the controller chassis to ID 1. Then set each expander chassis to a unique ID from 2 to 8. Insert the adapter into the correct slot in the chassis.

After hardware setup, configure the system software. Assign the correct IDs to each chassis. No regular maintenance is needed. Just keep the unit clean and free from dust.
