Product Summary
The 1794-PS13 Flex I/O power supply delivers stable 24V DC output to your Rockwell Automation system. It accepts universal AC input from 85 to 264V AC and drives up to four adapters. With built-in overcurrent and overvoltage protection, this module ensures safe, uninterrupted power for your I/O network. Its compact open-type enclosure simplifies mounting in control panels.
Installation Guide for the 1794-PS13 Power Supply
Step 1: Mounting and Mechanical Setup
The 1794-PS13 measures only 87 mm high by 69 mm wide by 69 mm deep. You must install it in an open-type enclosure with proper airflow. Use solid or stranded copper wire with an insulation rating of 75 °C (167 °F) or higher. The recommended wire size ranges from 0.34 to 2.5 mm² (22‑12 AWG). Ensure the insulation thickness does not exceed 1.2 mm (3/64 in.).

Step 2: Wiring the AC Input Terminals
Connect the AC line to the input terminals using category 2 wiring practices. Apply a torque of 0.8 Nm (7 lb‑in) to tighten each connection. The module accepts an input voltage range of 85‑264 V AC, 47‑63 Hz. Nominal operation uses 120V AC at 0.6 A max or 230V AC at 0.42 A max. Do not exceed the maximum input current of 0.7 A.
Step 3: Connecting the DC Output Loads
The output provides a nominal 24V DC with a range of 20.4 to 27.6 V DC. You can source up to 1.3 A continuous current, which delivers 31.2 W of power. The module can drive a surge current sufficient to power four adapters simultaneously. Daisy‑chain the output to additional Flex I/O adapters as needed.

Step 4: Verifying the Power Indicator
A green LED illuminates when the output voltage exceeds 20.4 V DC but stays below 28 V DC. If the LED remains off, check for no power, an overvoltage condition above 35 V DC, or an overcurrent event above 1.4 A. The overvoltage protection internally limits the output to 40 V DC maximum.
Step 5: Ensuring Electrical Isolation
The module requires 2500 V DC isolation between AC input and DC output for one second. Always maintain separation between these circuits in your panel layout. The output ripple is 1200 mV peak‑to‑peak at 5% AC ripple. Power dissipation is 7 W, with thermal dissipation of 23.9 BTU/hr.
Step 6: Environmental Operating Conditions

Operate the 1794-PS13 within an ambient temperature of 0 to 55 °C. Storage temperature ranges from -40 to 85 °C. Relative humidity must stay between 5% and 95% non‑condensing. These tolerances ensure long‑term reliability in harsh industrial environments.
