Step-by-Step Installation Guide
Mount the 1734-IB4 on a zinc-plated, yellow chromate steel DIN rail. Never use aluminum or plastic rails as they may corrode and cause poor grounding.
Secure the DIN rail every 200 mm using appropriate anchors. This ensures stable mechanical support for the module and adjacent I/O blocks.
Orient the module with its removable terminal block (RTB) at the bottom. Connect field wiring to the RTB before snapping it onto the module.
Wire your sinking input sensors to the proper terminals. Use 24V DC field power; the module accepts 10–28.8V DC.
Set the keyswitch position to 1 (factory default) to prevent incorrect module insertion. Write the node address in the writable area on the front panel for easy identification.
Power up the system through the communication adapter. The POINTBus automatically provides 5V DC to the module circuitry.
