Product Summary
The Allen-Bradley 1794-OB8 Flex I/O module controls eight digital DC outputs efficiently. It delivers reliable 24V DC sourcing current for industrial actuators. You can install this module quickly on a DIN rail. It supports flexible communication options like EtherNet/IP.
How This Module Simplifies Procurement and Installation
Streamlined System Integration
The 1794-OB8 reduces wiring complexity by removing direct field wiring. You can insert or remove this module under power. This feature eliminates lengthy system restarts during maintenance. It saves valuable time for your engineering team.

Technical Alignment with Your Application
This module provides eight sourcing outputs with a nominal 24V DC. Each channel handles a maximum current of 500mA. The module delivers reliable switching with a fast 0.5ms off-to-on delay. It suits high-speed control of solenoids and indicator lamps.
Physical Installation Procedure
Mount the 1794-OB8 onto a compatible terminal base unit. Use the 1794-TB3 or 1794-TB3S base for secure connections. Hook the assembly onto a standard DIN rail at an angle. Push it firmly until it locks into place. Then connect the field wiring to the screw terminals. Ensure you use wire sizes from 0.34 to 3.3mm².

Power and Communication Setup
Supply external DC power ranging from 10 to 31.2V. The module draws a FlexBus current of 60mA at 5V DC. Connect your network via ControlNet, DeviceNet, or EtherNet/IP. The integrated FlexBus connector links the module to the I/O backplane.
Environmental and Status Monitoring
The module operates from 0 to 55 degrees Celsius. It handles 5 to 95 percent noncondensing humidity. Each channel has a yellow LED for quick output status checks. This allows immediate visual confirmation during troubleshooting.
