Proper mechanical mounting ensures a stable electrical connection. Position the 1734-ADN vertically on the DIN rail before attaching other base units. Apply firm pressure to the module body while pushing it downward. The locking mechanism will engage automatically to secure the unit.
After mounting, connect the DeviceNet trunk cable to the dedicated terminal. Tighten the holding screws located on both sides of the terminal block. Use a recommended cable like Belden YR-29832 for optimal signal integrity. This specific cable type ensures reliable communication in noisy industrial environments.
Configure the module node address using the embedded thumbwheel switch. This switch is located on the upper right side of the module housing. Valid node addresses range from 0 to 63 for this adapter. The module stores the selected address within its non-volatile memory as the default.
